By the end of this page, you'll be able to diagnose the most common Ultimate Cursor problems yourself before opening a support ticket.
Applies to Ultimate Cursor 2.3.1+.
Cursor not showing
Check in this order:
- Is a cursor type actually configured? An unconfigured configuration shows nothing by design.
- Does the current page match your scope rule? See Targeting & Conditional Logic —
specific-pages/css-selectorsscope only applies where it matches. - Are you on a touch device?
hideCursorOnTouchis on by default — this is expected behavior, not a bug. - Did you save? Changes only apply after Save Changes.
- Is a caching plugin serving a stale page? Clear cache and hard-refresh.
Settings not saving
Ultimate Cursor's REST endpoint only accepts known, allowlisted fields — anything else is silently dropped rather than causing an error. If a specific field won't stick, confirm you're using the exact field name from the relevant reference page in these docs, and that your browser console shows no failed network request.
Premium fields reverted
If Pro fields you'd set earlier appear reset to their defaults, your license most likely lapsed or Pro was deactivated. This is expected: the data isn't deleted, just hidden from output while unlicensed. See Uninstalling & Data — everything reappears once the license is active again.
Before you contact support
Gather this first, it speeds up every support request:
- Ultimate Cursor and Ultimate Cursor Pro version numbers (Plugins screen)
- Which cursor type/effect and which scope you've configured
- Browser and device (especially if the issue is touch-device-specific)
- Any browser console errors (open DevTools → Console, reload the page)
- Whether the issue happens with all other plugins deactivated (see Plugin Conflicts)
