Cyber Monday Mobile Checklist for WooCommerce Stores

Get a WooCommerce store ready for Cyber Monday shoppers on phones — search and cart in thumb reach, a fast mobile menu, a one-line offer banner, product strips, lighter effects and a real checkout test.

A WooCommerce store is ready for Cyber Monday on phones when shoppers can search and reach the cart with one thumb, see the offer in one line, find the discounted products without scrolling a wall of them, and finish checkout without anything moving in the way. This checklist covers each point and the free WPXERO plugins that handle them without code.

Cyber Monday 2026 is November 30. Do this the week before — not on the day.

Start with your own numbers

Open your analytics and check last year's November: what share of visits and orders came from phones, and where mobile shoppers left. If phones bring most of the traffic but few of the orders, the steps below matter more than any banner.

1. Put search and the cart in thumb reach

On a phone the header is the hardest place to reach. A bottom bar keeps the important actions under the thumb on every page.

MenuVerse adds an app-style Bottom Menu for free:

  1. Install MenuVerse with WooCommerce active and enable the Bottom Menu.
  2. Add four buttons: Shop, Search (set to search WooCommerce products), Cart and Account.
  3. Test on a phone: search, add a product, open the cart.

MenuVerse Pro adds a live cart count fetched for each visitor from the WooCommerce Store API, so it stays correct when your pages come from a full-page cache — which most stores turn on before a big sale. The full setup is in the WooCommerce mobile bottom bar guide.

2. Make the menu open fast

A slow or janky hamburger menu loses shoppers looking for a category. MenuVerse's off-canvas Mobile Menu reads your existing WordPress menu, so there's nothing to rebuild. It uses plain JavaScript with no jQuery, loads only the modules you switch on, and supports keyboard use, focus trapping and reduced motion.

Keep the top level short — five or six categories, plus a Deals link while the sale runs.

3. Say the offer in one line

Shoppers on phones won't read a paragraph. One line at the top of every page is enough: what, how much, until when.

  • A scrolling line: MarqueeX's free Text Marquee block (or Elementor widget). Keep the text short and the speed slow so it can be read at phone width.
  • A fixed bar: ExtenderX's free Announcement Bar, dismissible, at the top or bottom of the page. ExtenderX Pro adds a Global Countdown Banner for the final day.

Pick one. A marquee, a bar and a popup on a small screen leave little room for products. If you use the bottom bar from step 1, put the offer at the top.

Write the end time with a time zone — "ends Wednesday 11:59 PM ET" — and make sure any countdown ends when the coupon does.

4. Show the deals, not the whole catalog

A category page with 200 products is hard work on a phone. Give sale items their own short strip on the homepage and the cart page:

  • A moving product strip: MarqueeX's free Post Marquee with Products as the source shows product cards that link to each product page. Pro lets you hand-pick the products. Cards don't show prices or add-to-cart buttons, so say "25% off" in the heading above. See the WooCommerce product marquee guide.
  • A swipeable carousel: SlideVerse Pro has a WooCommerce Product Slider block for the block editor — swiping card by card suits phones.

Link the strip to one deals category or page, so "see all deals" is one tap away.

5. Lighten the effects on phones

Effects that look fine on a desktop can stutter on a mid-range phone, and a stutter on a product page costs more than the effect earns.

  • Animated backgrounds: Animation Kit has an On phones setting per background — full, lighter, a still image or nothing. Choose lighter or still for the sale.
  • Custom cursors: Ultimate Cursor is hidden on touch devices and its scripts aren't downloaded there, so it doesn't slow phones down.
  • Seasonal effects: ExtenderX's effects follow the visitor's reduced-motion setting, and modules you leave off load no assets. With Pro you can limit an effect to certain pages.

Whatever you use, keep it off the cart and checkout. Nothing should move near a payment form.

6. Keep it usable for everyone

Holiday shoppers include people with low vision, older relatives buying gifts and people with one hand on a bus rail. ExtenderX's free Accessibility Toolbar gives them text size, high contrast and paused motion without an account or cookies, and its free Skip to Content link and focus outlines help keyboard users.

Check that buttons are big enough to tap, the sale banner text has enough contrast, and the bottom bar doesn't cover the "Place order" button.

7. Test checkout on a real phone

The week before Cyber Monday, on your own phone and in a private browser tab:

  1. Tap the offer banner — does it land on the deals page?
  2. Search for a product from the bottom bar.
  3. Add two products, open the cart and check the discount is applied.
  4. Go all the way to the payment step. Check nothing covers form fields, the cookie notice or the order button.
  5. Run a page speed test on the homepage and a product page with everything switched on.

Then do it again on a slow mobile connection.

Common Questions

Cyber Monday 2026 is Monday, November 30 — the Monday after Black Friday on November 27.

Install the free MenuVerse plugin, enable the Bottom Menu and add Home or Shop, a product search, Cart and Account buttons. MenuVerse Pro adds a live cart count that stays correct with full-page caching.

Use MarqueeX's free Text Marquee block or Elementor widget for a scrolling line, or ExtenderX's free Announcement Bar for a fixed bar at the top or bottom of every page. Pick one, not both.

Not necessarily, but keep them light on phones and off the cart and checkout pages. Animation Kit lets you choose a lighter version, a still image or nothing on phones, and Ultimate Cursor's cursor isn't loaded on touch devices.
