To add a mobile bottom bar to a WooCommerce store, install MenuVerse, enable the Bottom Menu and set four buttons: Home or Shop, a product search sheet, Cart and Account. Product search is free; with MenuVerse Pro the cart and wishlist buttons show live counts fetched per visitor, so they stay accurate with full-page caching.
Why stores need one
On phones, shoppers bounce between products, search and the cart. A bottom bar keeps those actions in thumb reach on every page, instead of making shoppers scroll back up to a header icon.
Set up the bar
- Install and activate MenuVerse (WooCommerce active).
- Open MenuVerse, enable Bottom Menu and start from a ready-made look.
- Set four buttons:
| Button | Action | Icon |
|---|---|---|
| Shop | Page → your Shop page | Bag |
| Search | Search sheet → WooCommerce products | Magnifier |
| Cart | Page → Cart | Cart |
| Account | Page → My Account | Person |
- Add labels so each icon is clear.
- Use the More drawer for categories, wishlist, order tracking or help.
- Save and test on a phone: search, add to cart, open the cart.
Live cart and wishlist counts (Pro)
With MenuVerse Pro, the cart button shows a live count badge fetched from the WooCommerce Store API for each visitor. Because it's fetched per visitor, it stays correct even when your pages come from a full-page cache. With YITH WooCommerce Wishlist, the wishlist button gets a live count too.
Pro also adds WhatsApp and phone buttons for stores that sell by chat, per-button visibility by sign-in state (for example, Account only for logged-in customers), gradients and frosted glass, and a dark-mode palette. It starts at $19.99 a year.
Selling digital downloads?
If you use Easy Digital Downloads, a search button can be scoped to downloads instead.
Free alternatives with cart counts
If a cart count is the one feature you need for free, WP Bottom Menu and UnoDock include it in their free versions. MenuVerse's advantage is everything around the bar: a full hamburger menu in the same plugin, menus built from your existing WordPress menus, and support for block themes. See our mobile menu plugin comparison.
Checklist
- Footer padding so the bar doesn't cover your footer's last line.
- Safe-area padding is built in for notched phones.
- Test checkout — some stores hide the bar on checkout to keep focus; place it with the block or shortcode on the pages you want, or use Pro page rules.
- Keep it to four buttons plus More.
