What is GeoVerse Maps?
GeoVerse Maps adds a real Google Maps block to the WordPress block editor. Drop it into a post or page, search for your address, and you have a working embedded map — no Google Cloud console and no API key needed just to show a location. Add a free Google Maps API key when you want more: custom marker icons, unlimited markers, map style presets or your own style JSON, rich info windows, a location search box, category filters, turn-by-turn directions, traffic, transit and bicycling layers, and a clickable list view. Assets load only on pages that use the block, and maps resize properly on phones and tablets.
GeoVerse Maps Features
Everything GeoVerse Maps can do — Pro additions are marked
Works Without an API Key
Insert the block, search for an address and publish — you get a working embedded map before you ever open the Google Cloud console.
A Native Block, Not a Shortcode
Everything lives in the block editor: align it, resize it and style it like any other block, with no shortcode syntax and no page-builder lock-in.
Unlimited Custom Markers
Add as many markers as you need, each with its own custom icon. Requires a free Google Maps API key.
Store Locator Filters
Group markers into categories and let visitors filter to the locations they care about — from one pin to a full store locator.
Map Style Presets
Choose from several colour-coded map themes, or paste your own custom style JSON.
Rich Info Windows
Opening hours, phone numbers, links and short descriptions in each marker’s info window.
Location Search
A visitor-facing search box for finding places on the map.
Turn-by-Turn Directions
Each marker can show a “Get Directions” button that routes from the visitor’s own location using Google Maps.
Traffic, Transit & Bicycling Layers
Switch on live traffic, public transit or bicycling layers when they help your visitors.
Clickable List View
Show a list of markers alongside or below the map — easier to scan than pins when you have many locations.
Responsive with Fullscreen
Maps resize properly on phones and tablets, height can be set per breakpoint, and visitors can open the map fullscreen.
Loads Only Where It’s Used
Map assets load only on pages that contain the block, and the markup presents your address clearly for visitors and search engines.

Frequently Asked Questions
Everything you need to know about GeoVerse Maps
Not to get started. Without one, GeoVerse Maps shows a basic embedded map for your chosen location. Add a key when you want markers, custom styles, search, directions, filters or map layers — Google’s API key setup is free for typical usage on most sites.
Yes. Maps are added as a native block inside the WordPress block editor — no shortcodes and no separate settings screens you have to hunt for.
Yes. Add as many markers as you need on one map, and optionally group them into categories so visitors can filter to just the locations they care about.
Yes, once an API key is configured. Each marker can show a “Get Directions” button that routes from the visitor’s own location using Google Maps.
Yes. The layout is responsive, and height can be set per breakpoint (desktop, tablet and mobile) so the map doesn’t dominate smaller screens.
Either under Settings → GeoVerse Maps in your WordPress admin, or directly in the map block’s own settings while you edit a page. It’s a single, site-wide setting either way.
It helps with the part a map plugin can: fast, clean markup and a clear, accurate presentation of your business location. Pair it with consistent name, address and phone details and solid on-page content for the best results.
Most alternatives require an API key from the first click or rely on shortcodes. GeoVerse Maps shows a working map immediately, is built as a Gutenberg block from the ground up, and grows into a filterable store locator without switching plugins.
