The best marquee plugin for WordPress depends on your builder. MarqueeX is the only popular option with free marquees for both Elementor (8 widgets) and the block editor (5 blocks), including post and WooCommerce product marquees. Marquee Addons is Elementor-only with product marquees in Pro. Ditty is a classic news ticker with paid extensions.
Disclosure: WPXERO makes MarqueeX; this comparison covers version 0.6.2. Everything said here about the other plugins comes from their WordPress.org readmes, linked in each section, as of October 25, 2026.

MarqueeX — best free marquee for both builders
MarqueeX adds continuously scrolling content as 8 Elementor widgets — Text, Image, News Ticker, Post, Testimonial and Team Members marquees, Animated Heading and Animated Word Roller — and 5 blocks — Text Marquee, Image Marquee, News Ticker, Post Marquee and Infinite Slider (fill it with any blocks). There's no marquee limit, no watermark and no trial timer.
Every marquee scrolls horizontally or vertically in either direction, with speed, pause on hover, edge fade, typography, colour, spacing and responsive controls. Marquees scroll with CSS keyframes, each Elementor widget script is under 1 KB, and a page with no marquee loads nothing from the plugin. Shortcodes cover themes without a builder integration.
Pick it if: you use the block editor, Elementor, or both, and want logos, headlines, posts or products moving without paying.
What Pro adds: scroll interactions (spin the mouse wheel to speed up or reverse a marquee, or drag to scrub it), hand-picked posts and products, an advanced Elementor query by author and taxonomy, 8 more Animated Heading animations, gradient and image-masked heading text, 4 more Word Roller transitions and Post Marquee card layouts. Pro starts at $19.99 a year, or $59.99 lifetime.
Where it falls short: product cards show the image, title and meta — not price or an add-to-cart button — and there's no video or social media marquee.
Marquee Addons for Elementor — most widgets for Elementor-only sites
Marquee Addons includes free image, text, testimonial and video marquees, a news ticker, animated headline and word roller, plus extras like an image accordion and hotspots. Its Pro version adds card, media, Instagram and TikTok marquees and Post, Products and Product Category marquees with price and add-to-cart.
Watch out for: Elementor only, and post or product marquees need Pro.
Ditty — the classic news ticker
Ditty builds tickers, lists and sliders from custom text, HTML or a lite posts feed, with live updates in the background. Images, full post control, RSS, Instagram and scheduling come from paid extensions.
Pick it if: you need a news ticker that mixes feeds and updates without a page reload.
Marquee Block — a single, flexible block
Marquee Block is one CSS-based block that scrolls text, images or any blocks horizontally or vertically. It's free and simple; there are no post queries or Elementor widgets.
Logo Carousel — for logo showcases
Logo Carousel is a full logo showcase with carousel and grid blocks, filters and tooltips — but its Marquee block is Pro.
